It does pick up pace in the second half but the narration is inconsistent and tedious. But here Sreenivas has tried to experiment and has given Mahesh too many dialogues and they fail to make an impact. In all his hugely successful films like 'Pokiri', 'Athadu' and 'Okkudu', Mahesh always had a few dialogues that had a lot of force and punch. What we see on screen is just a couple of hilarious dialogues and some funny situations, but the film lacks the punch seen in Mahesh Babu's previous film 'Athadu', which was also directed by Sreenivas. The cinematography is mind-blowing and the comedy has a classic touch.ĭirector Trivikram Sreenivas, who has always been a great script and dialogue writer, fails to excel in his core strength this time. The film, however, has its positive points apart from, of course, Mahesh Babu's performance. For those who expected another film like 'Okkudu' or 'Athadu', 'Mahesh Khaleja' is certainly a let-down.

But Mahesh Babu has given a splendid performance and his screen presence is terrific.Įverything looks perfect when Mahesh Babu is around though the script and narration could have been much better. I plan to rewatch it, fast-fowarding all the fighting portions of course.Mahesh Babu's 'Mahesh Khaleja', which releases after a three-year gap, hasn't really lived up to the huge expectations built around it. If you haven’t already, I would definitely recommend you watch this movie, especially if you’re a Mahesh Babu fan. It was all revealed within 10 minutes in the last part of the movie. The mystery in the storyline was interesting, but they hardly spend any time on it. I don’t care much for fighting scenes, but the ones in this movie were particularly gory and I definitely could have done without them. She didn’t really have much to do except provide Mahesh Babu with opportunities to do some awesome acting. And, his delivery of those dialogues and his performance in general was very natural and believable. I’d say that he had the most consistently hilarious dialogues of any movie I’ve seen. He plays a sarcastic & snarky taxi driver.

Mahesh Babu’s performance was by far the best thing about the movie.

And, I’m really glad I did because it was one hilarious movie. Even though it had terrible reviews, I watched it at the insistence of my sister. While everyone else is busy watching Dookudu, I’m catching up on Mahesh Babu’s previous movie, Khaleja.
